The All-Important Outline

Hey, Camille/Lore here! Since releasing Taarradhin, Auro and I have both been back to work on BCM. Unfortunately there’s not a lot that we can show off from it at this point, but in the meantime we wanted to keep updating this blog.

A question I often get is how I organize my writing for visual novels, so I wanted to address that in a post. Since I’ve started, I’ve gone through a bunch of different methods:

  • Machina Jewel -> writing copious notes by hand
  • BCM -> Scrivener, then Evernote notes, then Evernote outlines
  • The Elevator -> Evernote notes
  • Ristorante Amore -> flowchart
  • Nachtigal -> Evernote outline
  • Taarradhin -> Evernote outline

As you can see, I’ve sort of settled on an outline format. Even so, however, the way I’ve done outlines has changed a lot. (more…)
